Learning To Think And Act Like An Owner of New Belgium Brewing: Part One

There appears to be a growing movement in the craft brewing industry around employee ownership. Breweries like Left Hand, Deschutes, Harpoon, and, most recently, Odell Brewing in Fort Collins, Colorado, are now owned at least in part by their employees through an employee stock ownership plan or ESOP. Then there’s New Belgium Brewing, which has long had an ESOP in place and, as of January 2013, became 100% employee owned.
